Job summary

Calvary Mater Newcastle is seeking a Director of Medical Services to provide executive leadership and strategic oversight of medical services, workforce, research and clinical governance.

Reporting to the General Manager, you will lead patient-centred care, advance medical workforce development and governance, and collaborate with nursing and allied health leaders to drive service improvement.

This is a permanent full-time executive role.

Qualifications

• Current registration with AHPRA as a Medical Practitioner.
• Fellowship of RACMA or progress towards FRACMA.
• Senior or executive management experience in a complex healthcare environment.
• Experience in strategic planning, medical administration, workforce management and governance.
• Experience leading quality assurance and patient safety programs.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership and strategic oversight of medical services.
• Lead clinical governance and workforce development initiatives.
• Collaborate with Nursing and Allied Health directors to drive service development.
• Support research, innovation and continuous improvement.
• Ensure safe, patient-centred care and regulatory compliance.
