Job summary

Department of Parliamentary Services seeks a dynamic leader for the role of Director, Event Operations and Sales at the Parliamentary Executive Level 2 (PEL2) in Canberra. The role oversees planning, sales, and delivery of high-profile events across Parliament House venues, with a focus on strategy and client experience.

Qualifications

• Leadership and sector experience in event operations, sales or hospitality.
• Strong strategic and operational capability.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and financial acumen.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for event sales, planning, and delivery.
• Lead end-to-end event operating model from enquiry to post-event evaluation.
• Develop and execute sales and venue activation strategies to grow demand and revenue.
• Set pricing and packaging, manage budgets and forecasts, monitor profitability.
• Build and lead a multidisciplinary team across sales, event coordination and banquet operations.
