Job summary

Cater Care is seeking an accomplished Executive Chef to lead a new food service operation at Trinity College, Melbourne. You will shape the culinary direction, build a high-performing team and establish standards that define the operation from day one.

The role is permanent and full-time, with a Monday–Friday roster from 10:00 am to 6:30 pm, commencing ahead of the January 2027 opening. Salary is circa AUD 100,000 per annum plus superannuation.

Qualifications

• Experience leading professional kitchen operations as an Executive Chef.
• Bulk catering experience delivering quality and consistency at scale.
• Experience in education, institutional catering or premium hospitality.
• Strong leadership, talent development and team accountability.
• Commercial accumen across food costing, labour, procurement and stock control.
• Sound food safety knowledge and high standards of compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the kitchen operation, setting exceptional standards for food quality, presentation and service delivery.
• Plan and execute high-volume catering with efficiency and quality at scale.
• Develop refined menus catering to diverse dietary requirements.
• Recruit, lead and mentor a high-performing kitchen team.
• Oversee food costs, labour, procurement, stock control and waste.
• Uphold rigorous food safety, hygiene and WH&S standards.
