An exciting opportunity exists for a Legal Executive Assistant to join our Insurance & Corporate Risk team, providing dedicated support to our Public Law practice. In this role, you will provide high-level assistance to a team of senior legal professionals known for their expertise, dedication and collaborative approach. You will be part of a supportive environment, working closely with other Legal Executive Assistants to ensure seamless day-to-day operations and contribute to the team’s overall success .

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, proactive and a self-starter.

As a key member of the team, your main responsibilities will include:

  • high volume file management including file opening , filing and serving court documents;
  • email and inbox management;
  • reviewing weekly rosters and assisting with task allocation;
  • extensive diary management including organising meetings and sending calendar appointments for court listings;
  • downloading and receipting client and tribunal files;
  • using online portals to monitor and file documents with Courts and Tribunals;
  • drafting correspondence, document production and amendments including use of precedents;
  • arranging summons requests;
  • processing invoices for third party payors;
  • database management and coordination ;
  • updating Excel spreadsheets and producing fortnightly and monthly reports;
  • performing general administrative tasks such as photocopying, posting, arranging couriers and delivering briefs to counsel as required;
  • occasionally arranging travel through TravelEdge.

What you need

The successful candidate will have an interest in legal administration and a strong willingness to learn. Ideally, you will have experience in a similar role as an Executive or Legal Assistant within a litigation and personal injury environment, and demonstrate the following:

  • excellent prioritisation and organisational skills;
  • resilience and a strong commitment to excellence;
  • self-motivation and the ability to work in a highly collaborative team environment;
  • strong understanding of MS Office applications;
  • ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities and deadlines;
  • a team orientated mindset with a focus on building strong working relationships;
  • high level of accuracy and attention to detail;
  • initiative and a genuine desire to contribute to team success.
