Job summary

Sargent Skip Bins is seeking an experienced Machinery Operator with strong Excavator experience for demolition and civil works in the Brisbane Northside area. You will operate excavators and other machinery across demolition, earthworks and civil projects, while maintaining safety and efficiency on site.

The role requires proven excavator experience, ability to work independently or in a team, and a commitment to safety and equipment care.

Qualifications

• Excavator operating experience on demolition or civil sites.
• Construction White Card and valid Australian driver licence.
• Ability to pass drug and alcohol testing.
• Full Australian working rights.
• Experience in demolition and/or civil construction.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate excavators and other machinery on demolition and civil sites.
• Carry out residential and commercial demolition as required.
• Perform detailed demolition and strip-out works.
• Site clearing and clean-ups; bulk and detailed earthworks.
• Excavation, trenching, loading trucks and sorting demolition materials.
• Prepare and level sites; assist the site team as needed.
• Work safely around structures and services; complete daily pre-starts.
• Follow SWMS, site procedures and WHS requirements.

Machinery / Excavator Operator – Demolition & Civil Works

Location: Deception Bay, Brisbane Northside Employment: Casual (full-time hours)

We are seeking an experienced Machinery Operator, preferably with strong Excavator experience, to join our demolition and civil works team.

The successful applicant will be confident operating machinery across a variety of demolition, earthworks and civil projects throughout Brisbane and surrounding areas.

About the Role

Your duties will include:

• Operating excavators and other machinery on demolition and civil sites
• Residential and commercial demolition
• Detailed demolition and strip-out works where required
• Site clearing and clean-ups
• Bulk and detailed earthworks
• Excavation and trenching
• Loading trucks and sorting demolition materials
• Concrete and hardstand removal
• Preparing and levelling sites
• Working safely around existing structures and services
• Completing daily machinery pre-starts
• Assisting the site team when required
• Following SWMS, site procedures and WHS requirements

• Has proven experience operating excavators
• Has experience within demolition and/or civil construction
• Is confident operating machinery safely in confined or detailed work areas
• Can work independently and as part of a team
• Takes pride in looking after machinery and equipment
• Is reliable, punctual and has a strong work ethic
• Understands workplace health and safety requirements

Essential Requirements

• Excavator / relevant machinery operating experience
• Construction White Card
• Current Australian Driver Licence
• Ability to pass drug and alcohol testing
• Full Australian working rights

• Demolition experience
• Civil construction experience
• HR or higher truck licence
• Asbestos awareness/removal qualifications
• Experience operating multiple types of machinery
• Relevant tickets and licences
