Job summary

MPAU Finance seeks an experienced Finance Business Partner for a 4-month fixed-term contract in Melbourne, commencing ASAP. The role requires immediate availability and will support budgeting, forecasting, reporting and strategic analysis during a busy period in events and tourism.

You will lead planning processes, deliver management reporting, provide commercial insight to stakeholders, drive automation and BI usage, and contribute to capital project submissions.

Qualifications

• CA or CPA qualified.
• Minimum 3+ years' experience in FP&A, commercial finance or business partnering.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting and management reporting capability.
• Experience improving reporting processes, automation and BI solutions.
• Able to hit the ground running with minimal onboarding.
• Experience within projects, infrastructure, leisure, events or complex stakeholder environments highly regarded.
• Comfortable working across both strategic and operational finance activities.

Responsibilities

• Lead budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes.
• Produce and maintain management reporting, forecasts and budgets within organisational systems.
• Deliver business partnering support to operational and commercial stakeholders.
• Assist with portfolio, profitability and commercial analysis across events and revenue streams.
• Contribute to strategic initiatives, including submissions for capital projects.
• Support post-event financial activities, including analysis of sales performance, claims and commercial outcomes.
• Drive reporting process improvements, automation initiatives and enhanced use of BI, AI and reporting tools.
• Identify opportunities to improve finance processes, reporting efficiency and decision-making capability.
