Job summary

HammondCare is seeking an After-Hours Nurse Manager to join the Health and Hospitals management team. The role oversees after-hours operations to ensure patient care and staff management, implementing contingency plans and coordinating with medical leaders.

You will be a vital link across teams, supporting after-hours duties and ensuring continuity of care in emergencies, with responsibility for disaster planning and escalation as needed.

Qualifications

• Current registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
• Relevant post-registration experience including palliative care, rehabilitation, and/or specialist mental health.
• Tertiary qualifications in management or significant management-level experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensures smooth operational management of HammondCare's hospital network across multiple sites.
• Assists with community palliative care calls from relevant LHDs across the hospital network.
• Monitor and adjust staffing levels to meet care needs based on occupancy and acuity.
• Support clinical staff in planning, delivery and evaluation of clinical care.
• Proactively build relationships with and manage staff to ensure high quality patient care.
• Ensure clinical care for inpatients is safe, well managed and of the highest quality.
• Participate in and initiate quality improvement projects.
• Implement disaster plans including fire evacuation when required.
