Job summary

Health On Call is seeking a caring, experienced Support Worker to provide support and care for children with ADHD, ODD and Autism. The role emphasizes individualized support, safety, and building routines to help children feel secure and engaged.

The successful candidate will work with families, follow specified plans, and contribute to the child’s wellbeing and development during after-school hours.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience caring for or supporting children with ADHD, ODD and Autism.
• Patient, calm, reliable and compassionate.
• Understands challenging behaviours and responds positively.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Independent work style and adherence to individual support plans.
• Genuine interest in supporting children's wellbeing and development.
• Relevant qualifications or experience in disability support, childcare or related field.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate and patient support to children with ADHD, ODD and Autism.
• Assist with daily routines, activities and age-appropriate play.
• Support positive behaviour and help children develop emotional regulation and social skills.
• Follow established routines, strategies and support plans.
• Maintain a safe, calm and supportive environment.
• Communicate effectively with parents/carers and provide feedback about the child's day.
• Encourage independence, confidence and participation in activities.
