Job summary

Evolve Talent is seeking an experienced Estimator to join our insurance and building services team in Queensland. You will prepare accurate cost estimates for major insurance projects, review drawings and reports, and support tender submissions from initial assessment through to completion.

The role requires strong knowledge of residential and commercial building processes, experience with large-scale claims, and proficiency in estimating software (CostX, Cubit, Buildsoft, Bluebeam).

Qualifications

• 4+ years experience as an Estimator.
• Strong knowledge of residential and commercial building processes.
• Experience estimating large-scale insurance claims and reinstatement projects.
• Ability to interpret scopes, drawings, and technical reports.
• Excellent attention to detail and commercial awareness.
• Experience with estimating software such as CostX, Cubit, Buildsoft or Bluebeam.
• Trade background (Carpentry preferred but not essential).
• Experience working with insurance builders, loss adjusters, or major insurers.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, managing tender submissions, and supporting projects from initial assessment through to completion.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates for major insurance projects
• Review scopes of works, reports, drawings, and engineering documentation
• Complete accurate take-offs and costings across complex building projects
• Liaise with clients, assessors, project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers
• Assist with tender submissions and variations
• Ensure estimates align with project requirements, budgets, and timelines
• Provide technical advice and support to project teams
• Maintain strong industry relationships with insurers, loss adjusters, and stakeholders

About You

• 4 + Years experience as an Estimator

• Trade background (Carpentry preferred but not essential)
