Job summary

Morson Edge (Australia) is seeking an Estimating Manager / Senior Estimator to lead its Design & Estimating team in Sydney. You will oversee major electrical tenders for large commercial projects, price competitively, and manage commercial risk with a focus on margins and profitability.

Role offers autonomy to influence estimating strategy, develop client relationships with builders and developers, and steer tender success from strategy through to submission.

Qualifications

• Extensive electrical estimating experience within Tier 1 or Tier 2 electrical contractor or similar commercial construction environment.
• Current Estimating Manager or Senior Estimator ready to step into a leadership position.
• Strong experience tendering electrical packages for commercial construction projects.
• Sound electrical trade and/or engineering background with strong technical and design knowledge.
• Proven ability to manage complex tenders, commercial risk, project costs and margins.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the Design & Estimating team, managing workloads and tender priorities.
• Oversee major electrical tenders across commercial construction projects, ensuring accurate pricing and competitive submissions.
• Review drawings, specifications, scopes and contract documentation to identify risks, exclusions and value-engineering opportunities.
• Manage labour, material and subcontractor pricing, cost planning and commercial negotiations.
• Oversee electrical design to ensure practical, compliant and cost-effective construction solutions.
• Build relationships with builders, developers, consultants and clients to identify and secure new project opportunities.
• Work closely with the Managing Director on tender strategy, business development and project profitability.
• Improve estimating systems, processes and reporting to drive efficiency and commercial performance.

About You
