Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide medical care and hospital nursing across the equine caseload.
• Assist with lameness workups and procedures.
• Prepare and maintain surgical theatres; support anaesthesia.
• Sterilisation and infection control; stock and equipment upkeep.
• Bandaging, catheter care, fluid therapy and medication administration.
• Monitor patients during recovery and manage ongoing care.

As our hospital continues to evolve, we’re looking for an enthusiastic, capable Equine Veterinary Nurse to join our team. This is an all-rounder nursing role within a busy equine hospital, ideal for someone who enjoys variety in their day-to-day work and has a genuine interest in surgery.

About the Role

This position offers exposure across all areas of equine hospital nursing, including:

• Medical case management and hospital care
• Assisting with lameness workups and procedures
• Preparation and maintenance of surgical theatres
• Supporting anaesthesia and surgical procedures
• Sterilisation and infection control
• Bandaging, catheter care, fluid therapy and medication administration
• Patient monitoring and recovery
• Stock control and equipment maintenance

While this is not a surgery-only role, we are particularly keen to find someone who is motivated to develop their skills in theatre alongside general nursing duties.
