Job summary

HTR Group in Canberra is seeking an EQoL Network Engineer on a 10-month contract within the Defence sector. The role is based in Canberra, ACT, and offers a base pay range of A$110.00/hr to A$135.00/hr.

Responsibilities include supporting the rollout across 52 Navy vessels and refining designs while configuring network devices. Minimum requirements include AGSVA security clearance, defence experience, and a degree in ICT Networking or Communications Engineering, along with Cisco Fortinet/Linux

Qualifications

• AGSVA Security clearance is mandatory.
• Defence sector experience is preferred.
• Ability to obtain construction white card.
• Strong understanding of switching, routing and related networks.
• Knowledge of Linux, virtualization, SDN and open-source tech is desirable.
• Familiarity with Layer-3 encryption, load balancing, network security.

EQoL Network Engineer

Contract position, 10 month period in the Defence sector. The role is based in Canberra, ACT.

Base pay range

A$110.00/hr - A$135.00/hr

Responsibilities

• Support the rollout of the EQoL system across 52 vessels in the Navy.


• Refine cross-class designs to meet platform specific constraints; STW the EQoL system including configuring and installing network devices.

Minimum mandatory requirements

• AGSVA Security clearance.


• Defence experience.


• Ability to obtain construction white card.


• In-depth understanding and experience of switching mechanisms, routing protocols, transmission protocols, routing, and troubleshooting of networks.


• Good understanding of virtualisation, SDN, Linux OS and desirable exposure to open-source technologies.


• Basic understanding of Layer-3 packet encryption, load balancing, network aggregation and network security.


• Ability to undertake and document network designs, lead project design reviews, engineering assessments and investigations of complex networks.


• Degree in ICT Networking or Communications Engineering.


• Cisco Certified Networking Professional (CCNP) Enterprise.


• Fortigate (Fortinet Certified Associate) or better.


• Formal Cybersecurity training.
