Hatch in Perth is seeking an Intermediate Civil Engineer to support complex mining, energy and infrastructure projects. You will contribute to concept through to construction, working in a multidisciplinary team to deliver robust civil solutions.

The role offers exposure to bulk earthworks, drainage, roads and site development, with opportunities to progress toward CPEng while developing technical leadership within a global engineering group.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or equivalent qualification.
• Approximately 3–7 years in civil design for infrastructure or mining projects.
• Experience with earthworks, drainage, roads and pavements.
• Knowledge of Australian Standards and design principles.
• Experience with Civil 3D, 12d Model or AutoCAD tools.
• Ability to interpret civil models, drawings and docs.
• Chartered accreditation is advantageous.

Hatch is seeking an Intermediate Civil Engineer to support the delivery of complex mining, energy and infrastructure projects across Australia. Working within a multidisciplinary team in our Perth office, you will contribute to the design and delivery of civil engineering solutions from concept and feasibility through to detailed design and construction support.

This role is ideal for a motivated engineer looking to further develop your technical capability while working alongside experienced industry professionals. You will gain exposure to a diverse range of projects involving bulk earthworks, site development, drainage, roads, water management infrastructure and industrial facilities, with opportunities to work across infrastructure, mining and energy sectors.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver civil engineering designs for mining, energy, transport and infrastructure projects under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Prepare design calculations, technical reports, specifications and engineering documentation.
• Support the design of bulk earthworks, site grading, drainage, stormwater management systems, roads and pavements.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including civil, structural, mechanical, electrical and process engineers.
• Assist with the development and review of engineering drawings, models and project deliverables.
• Undertake engineering assessments, design reviews and drawing checks.
• Participate in site inspections and investigations to support project delivery.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant Australian Standards, client requirements and Hatch quality procedures.
• Support project delivery to meet quality, schedule and budget objectives.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or equivalent recognised qualification.
• Approximately 3-7 years' experience in civil engineering design within consulting, infrastructure, mining or industrial projects.
• Experience in civil design including site grading, drainage, stormwater management, roads, pavements and earthworks.
• Working knowledge of Australian Standards and civil engineering design principles.
• Experience using industry-standard software such as Civil 3D, 12d Model, AutoCAD and related design tools.
• Ability to interpret civil models, drawings and technical documentation.
• Experience working within multidisciplinary project teams.
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality engineering outcomes.
• Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work both independently and collaboratively.
• Progress towards Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) accreditation through Engineers Australia is highly regarded.
