Ripley Valley State School is seeking applications for an Expression of Interest opportunity for the position of Head of Department - Student Services to join the team. The role focuses on initiatives that support the educational outcomes for students, incorporating the vision of the Early Childhood and State Schools Division into school planning.

Key responsibilities include developing the quality of teaching and learning and nurturing positive relationships between students, teachers, and the community.

This is open to Expressions of Interest and any extensions to this appointment will not exceed 12 months.

About The Role

As the Head of Department, Student Services, you will lead initiatives aimed at enhancing educational outcomes for students while integrating the vision of the Early Childhood and State Schools Division into school planning. You will drive the development of high-quality teaching and learning and foster positive relationships among students, teachers, and the wider community.

Your Responsibilities

As the Head of Department, Student Services, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide leadership and guidance for the implementation of innovative measures aimed at improving student learning outcomes and attendance in schools where a significant percentage of students may have a disadvantaged background, ensuring quality learning outcomes for all students.
  • Where requested, prepare all data returns for the Principal.
  • Provide management and engagement strategies including induction activities of new arrivals, and advise on specific academic, social and emotional needs of new arrivals.
  • Monitor students' individual performance and behaviour and develop and implement intervention strategies where necessary.
