Job summary

Dajarra State School, located in a small rural community 155 kilometres south of Mount Isa, is seeking a school cleaner. The role involves cleaning and sanitising various areas and surfaces, maintaining equipment, and ensuring a safe, tidy environment for students and staff.

Responsibilities include sweeping, vacuuming, outdoor area cleaning, rubbish removal, and graffiti/dust management in line with the Principal or Business Manager's directions. Experience in cleaning is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitise windows, doors, taps, sinks, drinking fountains, toilets, sick bays, cupboards and other surfaces.
• Maintain cleaning equipment and carry out cobweb and mildew removal using extendable equipment where required.
• Sweep, vacuum, hose and clean indoor and outdoor areas, including concrete, asphalt, bitumen and paved surfaces.
• Collect and dispose of rubbish, maintain litter-free areas, and clear materials from drains and gutters around buildings.
• Dust furniture, equipment and fans; remove graffiti and maintain vinyl and timber floors through buffing, stripping and polishing, along with other cleaning duties as directed by the Principal or Business Manager.
