Join our team as an Environmental Services Assistant on a part time to work at the Cranbourne Community Hospital based in Cranbourne. In this role, you will be guided under the leadership of the Support Services Supervisor and the General Services Manager and working with the broader Support Services team.

ESAs are responsible for maintaining a clean, hygienic, and safe hospital environment; not only for patients, but also for visitors and colleagues across Monash Health. ESAs deliver high-quality environmental services across clinical and non-clinical areas.

Key responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Ensuring adherence to infection prevention and control protocols at all times


• Adhering to safety protocols when using cleaning chemicals and equipment in line with safety guidelines


• Managing waste removal and disposal procedures safely and responsibly


• Maintaining cleaning schedules and documentation


• Reporting maintenance or safety hazards promptly


• Collaborating with clinical and support teams to deliver service excellence


• Distribution and collection of linen


• Physical work including lifting and manual handling

We currently have an opportunity to work Monday to Friday (Monday - Wednesday 16:00 - 23:00 and Thursday - Friday 17:00 - 23:00). Total hours per fortnight: 30.50 Hours

About You

To ensure your success in this role, you will bring experience in environmental services within a hospital, Aged Care or commercial cleaning setting with strong demonstrated knowledge of infection control and hygiene practices. You are a reliable and punctual team member with great verbal and written communication skills. Whether you’re work independently or as part of a team; you always follow manual handling, safety protocols, and procedural instructions.

Cranbourne Community Hospital is a small public hospital in Melbourne’s south-east, operated by Monash Health, designed to provide accessible, community-based healthcare close to home. It delivers a range of everyday services such as urgent care, day surgery, mental health, allied health and diagnostic services, primarily for patients who do not require emergency or overnight care. The hospital also helps reduce pressure on larger hospitals by managing routine and preventative care within the local community.
