James Cook University (JCU) in Cairns invites applications for an emerging or established academic with expertise in environmental hydrology to join the College of Science and Engineering.

The Lecturer or Senior Lecturer will teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses, supervise candidates, and develop an internationally competitive research program in catchment hydrology and soil–water–vegetation interactions.

Qualifications

• PhD in environmental hydrology or related discipline with strong research background.
• Record of high-quality research publications relative to career stage.
• Commitment to delivering engaging undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.
• Experience supervising undergraduate and postgraduate research students.
• Ability to plan and deliver multidisciplinary teaching and field-based activities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and coordinate high-quality teaching in environmental hydrology and related disciplines.
• Develop an impactful research program in environmental science and hydrological processes.
• Pursue competitive research funding and participate in multidisciplinary initiatives.
• Establish collaborations with Traditional Owners and research partners.
