Job summary

ERM is seeking an Environmental Geochemist to support complex mining, mine closure, and environmental projects across Australia and internationally. The role focuses on predictive geochemical modelling, AMD assessment, and management strategies, using PHREEQC and Geochemist’s Workbench.

Work alongside geochemists, hydrogeologists, and other specialists to translate modelling into practical client advice. You’ll apply your geochemical expertise to challenging projects, developing robust

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher in Environmental Geochemistry or related field.
• 5+ years in environmental/mining geochemistry consulting.
• Understanding of aqueous geochemistry and water-rock interactions.
• Experience in predictive geochemical modelling (PHREEQC, Geochemist’s Workbench).
• Ability to interpret geochemical datasets and lab testwork.
• Knowledge of AMD and mine waste geochemistry.
• Willingness to travel and work in multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and apply predictive geochemical models for mining projects.
• Create conceptual models of water-mineral interactions.
• Perform aqueous speciation and mineral saturation analyses.
• Interpret testwork and calibrate models with field data.
• Integrate geochemical predictions with hydrology assessments.
• Prepare technical reports and present findings.
• Collaborate with ERM teams across Australia and internationally.
• Assist in mine planning and closure planning.
