Job summary

Morson Edge Australia is seeking an experienced Environmental Compliance Manager in Sydney to lead environmental compliance across major renewable energy and infrastructure projects. You will interpret consent conditions, manage approvals and maintain compliant practices on site while partnering with delivery teams to mitigate risks.

Qualifications

• :Demonstrated environmental consultancy experience supporting major construction, energy or infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of Australian environmental planning approvals and development consent conditions.
• Experience preparing or managing environmental management plans and approvals.
• Experience overseeing environmental compliance during construction with contractor audits.
• Ability to translate complex obligations into actionable requirements.
• Proactive, solutions-focused with independent decision-making.
• Strong organizational skills under pressure.
• Excellent communication with contractors, consultants and stakeholders.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in environmental science/management/engineering.
• Experience across renewable energy or large-scale infrastructure is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing environmental performance across active construction sites.
• Managing approvals, conditions and environmental management plans for upcoming projects.
• Develop and maintain compliance registers and reporting processes.
• Coordinate preparation, review and finalisation of environmental management plans and supporting approvals.
• Monitor contractor environmental performance through site inspections and audits.
• Identify environmental risks and drive corrective actions.
• Manage environmental incidents, investigations, reporting and close-out.
• Work with regulators and project teams to resolve environmental matters.
• Support consistent compliance processes across the project portfolio.
