Job summary

ARTC seeks an Environment Business Partner to support environmental management across its rail network. You will work with operational teams to provide specialist environmental advice, ensure regulatory compliance and drive environmental improvements.

The role involves site visits and intrastate travel to support operations and projects. A relevant tertiary qualification and strong stakeholder engagement skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Environmental Management or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in environmental management, compliance and EMS implementation.
• Strong knowledge of environmental legislation, regulatory requirements and approvals processes.
• Experience providing practical environmental advice and managing risks in operational/project environments.
• Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills.
• Well-developed analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills.
• Current Class C driver's licence and willingness to travel intrastate/interstate.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist environmental advice and support to operational teams, maintenance activities and infrastructure projects.
• Support the implementation and continuous improvement of ARTC's Environmental Management System.
• Provide guidance on environmental legislation, permits, licences and approvals.
• Review environmental assessments, management plans and contractor documentation for compliance.
• Conduct site visits, inspections and environmental assurance activities.
• Support environmental incident investigations, reporting and corrective actions.
• Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
