Job summary

Laing O'Rourke is seeking an Environmental Advisor to join our AUKUS team in Osborne, South Australia, supporting the Nuclear-Powered Submarine Construction Yard program.

You’ll coach and mentor teams, deliver environmental programs, advise project teams on environmental requirements, and engage stakeholders to achieve strong environmental outcomes on this major defence infrastructure project.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience in environmental risk management on major construction projects.
  • Proactive approach with continuous improvement mindset.

Laing O’Rourke, with joint venture partner Amentum Australia,will play a central role in supporting Australian Naval Infrastructure (ANI) to develop and deliver the Nuclear-Powered Submarine Construction Yard (NPSCY) project at Osborne, South Australia.We will provide program and construction management services of nuclear related civil infrastructure, site‑wide nuclear licensee development expertise, and nuclear safety leadership.

About You

  • You will have a relevant tertiary qualification in Environmental Science along with an intermediate level of experience, having worked on major construction projects in Australia.
  • You will also be required to demonstrate basic environmental risk management capabilities within a major infrastructure project environment.
  • We are looking for someone who can demonstrate initiative with a proactive approach in their work and who seeks continuous improvement through self-development and learning from others.
  • Applicants must be Australian citizens and hold or be able to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance to NV1 level.
