Job summary

CPP is seeking an experienced Environmental Advisor to join its Health, Safety & Environment team in Sydney. You will partner with project and construction teams across major transmission, substations and renewables projects, providing practical environmental advice and ensuring compliance with approvals and EMS.

Based in Sydney with regular site visits and travel across NSW and QLD, the role offers a clear pathway to lead larger projects over time and develop expertise in environmental

Qualifications

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Environmental Management or a related discipline.
  • 2-3 years of experience in an environmental advisory or environmental compliance role within construction, infrastructure, utilities, energy or land rehabilitation.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental legislation, approvals and environmental management systems.
  • Experience developing and implementing Environmental Management Plans.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • A current Australian Driver's Licence and willingness to travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular site inspection to ensure Environmental obligations are maintained.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure planned works comply with environmental management plan.
  • Read and interpret Development Approvals, Environmental Impact Statements and other relevant project information, then using relevant information to develop or modify project construction environmental management plan(s).
  • Ensure all activities are performed in compliance with the requirements of the relevant specifications, codes and standards, which form part of the contract and environmental legal obligations.

The Opportunity

As we continue to grow across the renewable energy and transmission sectors, we are seeking an experienced Environmental Advisor to join our Health, Safety & Environment team. In this role, you'll partner closely with project and construction teams across major transmission, substation and renewable energy projects, providing practical environmental advice and ensuring environmental obligations are effectively managed throughout project delivery.

This role is ideal for someone who has gained a few years of experience within the construction or energy sector and is looking to take the next step in their career. You'll work alongside experienced environmental and project professionals, building your capability across environmental approvals, compliance and construction environmental management, while developing the skills and experience needed to take ownership of larger, more complex projects over time.

Key responsibilities of the role include:
