Job description

With our base in Australia, Vault Minerals is now strategically positioned to unlock greater value, expand our operations, and execute our strategy of providing larger, longer-life, and lower-cost gold production.

Deflector Operation consists of two high-grade, narrow vein Gold/Copper mines, located 160 km east of Geraldton. The ore is contained in a series of structurally complex lodes, namely the Deflector and Deflector Southwest deposits.

As part of our continued commitment to environment, sustainability and community engagement, we are seeking an experienced Environment Advisor to join our team at our Deflector and Rothsay mine sites. Your primary responsibility will be to support the facilitation of site environment compliance and conduct monitoring and reporting programs. You will report directly to the Senior Environment Advisor. In this role, you will provide technical advice and assistance to operational personnel to help them meet the objectives outlined in the Environment Policy.

The position will be offered as an 8:6 FIFO roster from Perth or DIDO from Geraldton.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct environment monitoring, ensuring accurate and timely data review and recording, and communication of outcomes to managers.
  • Assist with coordination of internal resources and contractors to ensure compliances are achieved.
  • Provide assistance with cultural heritage management issues, including cultural heritage assessment/clearance surveys.
  • Contribute to the preparation of environment approval applications.
  • Assist with the implementation of the Environment Management Plans and Procedures, reviewing when required.
  • Prepare the site weekly and monthly internal environment reports, and regulatory Annual Environmental Reports (AER).
  • Prepare accurate and detailed area maps as required using GIS software.
  • Prepare and deliver environment training and awareness material.
  • Ensure surface disturbance is managed effectively.
  • Support managers to conduct rehabilitation practices in line with the Mine Closure Plan.
  • Meaningfully engage with internal and external stakeholders on environment concerns or issues.
About You

The successful candidate will possess the following:

  • Recognised Tertiary Degree in a relevant Environment discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a site based environment advisor role.
  • An understanding of Western Australia’s environment legislation and approval processes.
  • Technical understanding and experience in using monitoring equipment and competence in understanding analytic results.
  • A fundamental understanding of practical strategies for mitigating environment impacts and implementing rehabilitation practices.
  • Previous exposure to management system (INX) databases (InControl) is desirable.
  • Proficient in using the Microsoft Office Suite with strong computer literacy & demonstrated experience in GIS software is essential.
  • Demonstrates excellent attention to detail, along with strong organisational and clear report-writing skills.
  • Current WA manual "C" Class driver’s licence and Senior First Aid Certificate.
