Lactalis Australia is seeking an experienced environmental leader to provide across-site governance and technical support for our Rowville, Jindivick, Lemnos, Darnum, Campbellfield, Tullamarine, Bayswater, Stanhope and Cobden sites. You will drive compliance, risk management and continuous improvement to deliver sustainable outcomes.

Qualificações

• Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science or Engineering with extensive management experience.
• Strong knowledge of environmental legislation, licensing, compliance frameworks and ISO 14001.
• Experience in manufacturing, FMCG or similarly regulated environments.
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead cross-site improvements.

Responsabilidades

• Lead environmental compliance activities across assigned sites and ensure licences and standards are followed.
• Provide expert environmental advice and risk management guidance to operational leaders.
• Manage regulatory reporting and maintain relationships with authorities and regulators.
• Drive consistency in standards, governance and management systems across sites.
• Oversee wastewater, trade waste and environmental controls; support incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Support ISO 14001 EMS across the network and monitor performance metrics.
• Partner with site leadership to strengthen environmental capability and accountability.

Reporting to the Head of Environment, you will be responsible for providing environmental leadership, technical expertise and support across multiple manufacturing sites including Rowville, Jindivick, Lemnos, Darnum, Campbellfield, Tullamarine, Bayswater, Stanhope and Cobden.

You will drive environmental compliance and governance, oversee wastewater and waste management programs, support environmental risk management activities, and lead continuous improvement initiatives that deliver sustainable environmental and business outcomes.

This position offers the opportunity to influence site leadership teams, operational decision-making and environmental performance across a diverse manufacturing footprint.

Key Responsibilities Include

• Lead environmental compliance activities across assigned sites, ensuring adherence to environmental legislation, licences and company standards.
• Provide expert environmental advice and risk management guidance to operational leaders.
• Manage regulatory reporting and maintain effective relationships with environmental authorities and regulators.
• Drive consistency in environmental standards, governance frameworks and management systems.
• Provide technical oversight and support for wastewater treatment, trade waste and operational environmental controls.
• Lead environmental incident investigations and ensure effective corrective and preventative actions.
• Support and continuously improve ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems across the network.
• Monitor environmental performance metrics and identify opportunities to improve water, waste and energy performance.
• Partner with site leadership teams to strengthen environmental capability and accountability.
• Lead environmental projects that deliver both sustainability and operational benefits.

To Succeed In This Role, You Will Ideally Bring

• Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or a related discipline, supported by extensive environmental management experience.
• Strong knowledge of environmental legislation, licensing, compliance frameworks and ISO 14001 management systems.
• Demonstrated experience within manufacturing, industrial, FMCG or similarly regulated environments.
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders, drive change and deliver environmental improvement initiatives across multiple sites.
• Highly developed analytical, risk management and problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance operational and environmental priorities.
