As an Environmental Health and Safety Lead, you will be supporting the successful delivery of the Safety, Health & Wellbeing, Environment & Sustainability Strategy (SHWES Strategy) for the designated site locations.

You will also have accountability for:

  • Contributing towards maintaining, improving and promoting the NGA EHS Management Systems.

  • Working with and assisting the EHS Service Delivery Manager, as requested.

  • Consulting, gaining input and engaging with managers and local SHWE Committee members on proposed changes and improvements to safety, health and wellbeing, environment and sustainability.

  • Assisting in improving the participation and effectiveness of local SHWE Committees.

  • Participating in and leading EHS audits activities, both internal and external.

  • Liaising, connecting with and maintaining relationships with external parties regarding EHS, including government authorities, legislative bodies and industry groups within the relevant State/Territory.

  • Participating in people cyclical activities including but not limited to Goal Setting, Quarterly Connections, Performance management, merit review processes, engagement survey’s and alike.

  • Supporting the EHS responsibilities of site/program managers by assisting in the identification of hazards, the implementation of risk controls and monitoring the effectiveness of controls.

About You:

  • Diploma of Work Health & Safety / Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent.

  • Lead Auditor in either ISO 45001, ISO 14001 or ISO 90.

  • Incident Investigation Certificate.

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

  • Current Australian Drivers’ License.

  • Risk Management Certificate.

  • Certified OHS Professional with AIHS.

  • Project Management.

  • Injury Management, Rehabilitation and Return to Work.

  • First Aid Certificate.

  • Mental Health First Aid Certificate or equivalent.

  • 5+ years working in a similar or related field of health and safety – aviation, manufacturing, mining, construction and energy

  • Experience in developing and/or implementing health and wellbeing programs
