Job summary

Tyler Wren is seeking an Environment & Planning lawyer in Sydney to advise on planning, environment and regulatory matters across property, infrastructure, energy and transport sectors. The role spans advisory and disputes work, including planning approvals, environmental compliance, and related litigation.

You will work with senior practitioners, develop technical expertise, and engage directly with clients within a collaborative national team.

Qualifications

• Experience in an Environment & Planning practice, ideally from a top tier, international, national or respected boutique firm.
• Exposure to planning and environment litigation.
• Strong drafting, advisory and matter management skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with partners, clients and broader project teams.
• Commercial mindset and interest in major projects, development, infrastructure, energy or renewables.
• Strong communication skills and a genuine desire to continue developing as an E&P lawyer.

Responsibilities

• Advise on planning, environmental and regulatory approval pathways.
• Support major development, infrastructure, energy, resources and transport matters.
• Assist with planning and environment litigation, including court proceedings.
• Advise on contaminated land, environmental licensing, biodiversity and heritage issues.
• Assist with compulsory acquisition, compliance and project delivery matters.
• Negotiate planning agreements and liaise with government stakeholders.
• Support transactional, advisory and contentious E&P work.
• Contribute to client relationships, internal initiatives and business development.

About the Role

Join a well-regarded Environment and Planning team within a premium commercial law firm in Sydney. Working closely with senior practitioners, you will advise on a broad mix of planning, environment, development and project-related matters across sectors such as property, infrastructure, energy, resources, transport, healthcare, residential and commercial development.
