Job summary

Brisbane Airport Corporation is seeking an Environment Advisor for Commercial Property to provide practical, risk-based environmental guidance across property and development projects. You will partner with Property and Works Managers, contractors, tenants and regulators to ensure compliant, environmentally responsible outcomes.

The role focuses on environmental assessments, EMS development, and monitoring, with emphasis on contamination, stormwater, noise and air quality management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-style degree in environmental science, engineering, planning or related field.
• Knowledge of environmental legislation, standards and EMS.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to work across multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide environmental advice across development and construction projects.
• Review environmental assessments, management plans and docs.
• Conduct environmental inspections, audits and compliance monitoring.
• Support development and maintenance of BAC's EMS.
• Review contamination, stormwater, erosion, groundwater, noise and air quality measures.
• Assist with environmental monitoring, data analysis and reporting.
• Investigate environmental incidents and support corrective actions.
• Build strong relationships with project teams, contractors, tenants and regulators.
• Support Airport Environment Strategy and initiatives.

About the role

Reporting to the Environment Manager, the Environment Advisor - Commercial Property provides practical, risk-based environmental advice across a broad range of property, infrastructure and development projects. You will partner closely with Property and Works Managers, contractors, tenants and stakeholders to support environmentally responsible outcomes while maintaining compliance with regulatory and operational requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing environmental advice and support across development and construction projects.
• Reviewing environmental assessments, management plans and supporting project documentation.
• Conducting environmental inspections, audits and compliance monitoring activities.
• Supporting the ongoing development and maintenance of BAC's Environmental Management System (EMS).
• Reviewing contamination, stormwater, erosion and sediment, groundwater, noise and air quality management measures.
• Assisting with environmental monitoring, data analysis and performance reporting.
• Investigating environmental incidents and supporting corrective actions.
• Building strong relationships with project teams, contractors, tenants and regulators.
• Supporting delivery of actions under the Airport Environment Strategy and other environmental initiatives.

About you

You like to be part of a high-performing team and take pride in making a difference through doing great work.

You will have experience in environmental management, compliance, approvals, planning or project delivery, ideally within property, infrastructure, construction, government, transport, utilities or another complex operating environment. Success in this role requires the ability to build strong stakeholder relationships, provide practical advice, balance competing priorities and translate environmental requirements into effective project outcomes.

You will also bring:

• A degree qualification in environmental science, engineering, planning or a related discipline.
• Knowledge of environmental legislation, standards and environmental management systems.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• The ability to work across multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with contaminated land, environmental auditing or construction projects will be highly regarded.
