Aerotek is hiring Welders for a contract position in Redmond, WA. Shift runs Monday-Thursday with Friday overtime from 5:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Pay is $27.49/hr plus 1.5x OT. Ideal candidates have welding experience or school training and seek steady hours, overtime, and long-term growth.

Responsibilities include welding operations, blueprint review, fixture work, layout verification, and equipment prep. Must pass weld exams and meet production standards. Fully onsite in Redmond, WA.

Qualifications

• Ability to setup, verify, and operate welding equipment.

Job Overview

A Welding Specialist performs welding operations in a fast-paced environment in workstations that have required cycle times. Team Members work in a culture that thrives on lean manufacturing principles both on and off the production line.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform welding operations: load and unload parts and weldments into various welding fixtures, depending on the production team needs.
• Review blueprints and other schematic drawings to ensure proper weld sizes and lengths are used on weldments.
• Arrange parts and structures of common weldments, usually guided by patterns or fixtures.
• Verify that layouts comply with drawings and symbols.
• Ensure accuracy of weldments by comparing to measurement specifications.
• Prepare welding equipment for proper usage and verify proper energy source and supplies.

Required Qualifications

• Basic technical knowledge of Gas Metal Arc Welding (MIG) welding techniques.
• Ability to setup, verify, and operate welding equipment.
• Sufficient welding skill to comply with quality standards and product specifications.
• Basic knowledge of blueprint layouts and symbols.
• Ability to perform common welds according to production and workflow requirements.
• Ability to perform standardized layouts of parts prior to welding, accurately identify weld locations, and perform detailed measurements.
• Ability to pass the Weld Exam and Skills Test.

Work Environment

Work in a manufacturing factory/warehouse environment within designated weld cells for health and safety. Expect to walk, stand, kneel, and lift 50 lbs on a constant basis for 10 hours a day.
