Where you'll be working

Ward 7B is a mixed medical/surgical ward where you will gain experience in peritoneal and haemodialysis, pre and post renal transplant care, complex wound management, and management of bladder irrigation and ileal conduits. Professional development is encouraged and supported. The unit has a 12 hour roster pattern to encourage work-life balance.

What you'll be doing

The purpose of this role is to provide safe and effective nursing care to patients using an individualised holistic approach related to the goals of care determined by the Primary Nurse (Registered Nurse) and within professional role limits and Enrolled Nurse Scope of Practice. In the delivery of nursing care the Enrolled Nurse will work under both the direct and indirect supervision of the Registered Nurse.

The Enrolled Nurse will consult with the registered nurse to ensure delegation is commensurate with own level of competence and within Local Health District (LHD) and Service policy, particularly in relation to the administration of medications.

People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Current AHPRA registration as an Enrolled Nurse.
  • Post registration experience in an acute hospital setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated communication skills, both written and verbal.
