Job summary

UnitingCare Queensland's St Stephens Hospital in Hervey Bay is seeking an Enrolled Nurse for a casual pool role. You will work under the supervision of the Registered Nurse to deliver safe, holistic care and support patient and family needs in an acute hospital setting.

We are a not-for-profit employer focused on community health and compassionate care. The position requires a Diploma of Nursing with AHPRA registration, at least 12 months post‑graduate experience in acute care, and flexibility

Qualifications

• Diploma of Nursing degree and AHPRA registration with a minimum of 12 months post-graduate experience in an acute hospital setting.
• Experience in General Medical/Surgical, High Dependency/Cardiac, or Rehabilitation areas.
• Full Australian Working Rights; flexibility to work a 24/7 rotating roster; commitment to patient safety and quality improvements.
• Willingness to obtain required vaccinations and pass a national criminal history check and functional assessment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe and holistic care under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate effectively with patients and families.
• Ensure a safe environment and apply best clinical practices to support patient outcomes.
• Assist in delegation of tasks and coordination of care to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Your part in our St Stephens team

As Part Of Our Casual Pool, You Will Work Under The Direction And Supervision Of The Registered Nurse To Deliver Safe And Holistic Care To Individuals And Their Families, Applying Best Clinical Practice And Ensuring a Safe Environment For Optimal Patient Outcomes. In Addition To This You Will

• Deliver exceptional person-centred care by working collaboratively with your multidisciplinary team, applying exceptional communication and customer service skills.
• Apply sound clinical practice which ensures a safe environment and promotes optimal patient health.
• Effectively exchange information with the Registered Nurse regarding patient responses to treatment and nursing care.
• Demonstrate application of the principles of clinical and workplace risk management.
• Achieve optimum patient care through effective collaboration with other health professionals and coordination of care.
• Achieves optimal patient outcomes through appropriate allocation of staff and delegation of work and effective communication skills.

• Experience in one or more of the following clinical areas: General Medical/Surgical, High Dependency/Cardiac, Rehabilitation
