Job summary

Southern Cross Care (SA, NT & VIC) Inc. is seeking an Enrolled Nurse to provide guidance and supervision to Personal Carers within a holistic, person-centred aged care service.

Working with a Registered Nurse, you will assess resident needs, apply clinical judgement within your scope, and help ensure safe, effective care plans aligned with the Better for Life framework. Diploma of Nursing and AHPRA registration are essential.

Qualifications

• Diploma of Nursing with current AHPRA registration as an Enrolled Nurse.
• Current First Aid HLTAID011 and CPR HLTAID009.
• Experience as an Enrolled Nurse in an Aged Care environment preferred.
• Strong communication skills and English literacy for progress notes.
• Excellent time management and ability to support staff.
• Knowledge of dementia care and Aged Care Standards.

Responsibilities

• Health Promoting Services: Promote resident independence and meaningful activities while infection control is followed.
• Clinical Care: Deliver best practice care, update progress notes, administer medications safely, and collaborate with staff.
• Governance and Supervision: Mentor Personal Carers, assist RNs in workloads, monitor resources, and contribute to quality improvement.

• Week 1; Friday, Saturday, and Monday - 2.54pm to 11.00pm; Monday - 7.00am to 3.06pm

About the role

The Enrolled Nurse provides support, guidance, and supervision to Personal Carers to deliver a holistic, person centred service aligned with the "Better for Life" framework. Working in consultation with a Registered Nurse, the Enrolled Nurse assesses resident needs, applies clinical judgements within their scope of practice, and ensures care plans are safe, effective, and maintained.

Key Responsibilities

• Health Promoting Services:Promote resident independence, social engagement, and meaningful activities while ensuring infection control protocols are followed.

• Clinical Care:Deliver best practice clinical care, update progress notes, administer medications safely, and collaborate with Allied Health and Lifestyle staff to support resident wellness and re-enablement.

• Governance and Supervision:Mentor Personal Carers, assist Registered Nurses in organising workloads, monitor resource usage, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.

• Diploma of Nursingwith currentAHPRA registrationas an Enrolled Nurse

• CurrentFirst Aid (HLTAID011)& currentCPR (HLTAID009)Certificates

• Previous experience working as an Enrolled Nurse in anAged Care environmentis desirable.

• Strongcommunication skillswith a level of English literacy that enables you to speak in a manner that older people can understand, as well as the ability to read written instructions and to write clearly and concisely particularly in progress notes

• Exceptionaltime managementand ability to support other staff.

• High-level understanding ofdementia care, including supporting residents with challenging behaviours

• Knowledge ofAged Care Standardsas they relate to accreditation.
