Job summary

Nido Early School is seeking an Assistant Service Manager to help run our centre, focusing on compliance, safety, family engagement and staff support.

You’ll work closely with the Executive Service Manager to model high-quality practice, maintain safe environments and lead recruitment, onboarding and performance processes. This role emphasizes teamwork, consistency, and a compassionate leadership style within a dynamic early-learning setting.

Qualifications

• Diploma or ACECQA equivalent in Early Childhood Education and Care.
• At least 2 years’ experience as a Lead Educator.

Responsibilities

• Model high-quality educational practice and provide active supervision.
• Ensure environments are safe, clean, and aligned with Nido philosophy.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, and performance processes.
• Maintain accurate staff and child records with full compliance.
• Act as WHS representative and support safety checks and drills.
• Provide operational coverage when the Executive Service Manager is absent.
• Lead by example with consistency, respect, collaboration and speaking up.

Your role as Assistant Service Manager

You’ll work closely with the Executive Service Manager to ensure the smooth running of the centre, from compliance and safety, to people support and family engagement.

• Role model high-quality educational practice and active supervision.
• Ensure environments are safe, clean, and aesthetically aligned to our Nido philosophy.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, and performance processes.
• Maintain accurate records for staff and children, ensuring compliance at all times.
• Act as WHS representative, supporting safety checks, drills, and risk management.
• Provide operational coverage when the Executive Service Manager is absent.
• Lead by example in demonstrating consistency, respect, intentionality, collaboration and speaking up

What you’ll bring

We’re looking for a leader who balances operational precision with a caring, supportive presence. Someone who sees the details, while never losing sight of the bigger picture — safe, joyful, and high-quality early learning.

• Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (or ACECQA equivalent).
• At least 2 years’ experience as a Lead Educator.
• Knowledge of EYLF, NQS, and the National Quality Framework.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Experience supporting teams and maintaining compliance systems.
• WWCC and First Aid (or willingness to obtain).
• Please note: Any candidate employed from 1 October must provide evidence of completion of the mandatory National Child Safety Training via Geccko, including Foundation Training (courses 1&2) and Advanced Training (courses 3, 4 & 5), or be willing to obtain these certifications prior to employment.
