Job summary

Shell Energy in Brisbane is seeking an Engineering Manager to provide technical and leadership oversight across gas generation, storage, and renewables assets. You will guide the engineering team, drive safety and compliance, and ensure effective execution of maintenance, outages and capital projects to maximise asset performance.

The role requires a Bachelor in engineering, RPEQ registration, and proven leadership in Australian power generation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering.
• Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ).
• Experience leading high-performing engineering/ops teams in power generation.
• Experience with gas-fired plants, BESS and solar PV assets.
• Commitment to safety, technical excellence and continuous improvement.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Knowledge of NEM/WEM frameworks and Generator Performance Standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide visible leadership across Shell Energy assets and teams.
• Lead engineering team through mentoring and succession planning.
• Own engineering management systems, standards, and assurance processes.
• Oversee capital projects, modifications and maintenance for asset integrity.
• Manage technical risks with compliance and performance monitoring.
• Set priorities and scope for engineering initiatives aligned with business objectives.
• Contribute to asset management and lifecycle strategies.
• Build relationships with operations, OEMs, contractors, regulators, and stakeholders.
• Represent Shell Energy in regulatory engagements on grid compliance and reliability.
