Job summary

Commonwealth Bank’s Apply With Ease Crew seeks an Engineering Manager who blends hands-on coding with leadership. You’ll guide full-stack development across React, Node and cloud, shaping technical strategy and delivering secure, scalable home-lending experiences.

You’ll lead a 3-5 engineer squad, collaborate with Product and Design, and champion modern engineering practices and AI-powered development. You’ll own the software lifecycle, improve platform reliability, review PRs, and ship

Qualifications

Deep full-stack and/or backend engineering expertise to lead architecture, design and delivery of secure, scalable customer platforms.
Lead a small team of engineers while remaining hands-on with coding, architecture and engineering delivery, fostering ownership and technical excellence.
Own outcomes end-to-end, partnering with Product and Design to solve customer problems from discovery through to production.
Champion full-cycle engineering with a "you build it, you own it" mindset, driving reliability, observability, security and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

Lead architecture, design and delivery of secure, scalable customer platforms.
Remain hands-on with coding, architecture and engineering delivery.
Coach engineers while uplifting engineering standards.
Own outcomes end-to-end with Product and Design from discovery to production.
Drive CI/CD, testing, DevOps and cloud practices for reliable, frequent delivery.
