Job summary

Jumbo Interactive is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead Team Handy, a five-person cross-functional group (Frontend, Backend, QA and Android) on the Jumbo Lottery platform. You’ll guide technical direction while contributing to code, shaping solutions and reviewing work.

The role covers architecture, delivery rhythm, and a roadmap around 12 weeks, with AI-assisted tooling and a strong emphasis on quality and collaboration with product and delivery partners.

Qualifications

• Hands-on software development experience at a senior-engineer level.
• Ability to understand complex codebases and become a subject-matter expert.
• Experience designing scalable solutions and applying engineering best practices at scale.
• Experience with databases and SQL; strong data-schema knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a small engineering team, setting direction for planning, delivery and improvements.
• Contribute patches, review code, and deepen understanding of the platform.
• Collaborate with a business analyst and product designer to define technical specs and designs.
• Maintain a practical delivery rhythm with retrospectives and continuous improvement.
• Help define a stable 12-week roadmap and manage risks and trade-offs.
• Advocate AI-assisted tools in development workflows and code review.
• Make architectural decisions and assess feasibility for DB/schema changes.
• Coach engineers and support career development and performance management.
