Job summary

Monadelphous is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the engineering function for a major power generation facility on a 2:1 FIFO roster. You will oversee engineering performance, compliance and safety while guiding a team of professionals focused on operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Degree qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Process or Chemical Engineering.
• Extensive leadership experience in power generation or heavy industrial operations.
• Strong background in asset management and maintenance strategy development.
• Experience managing engineering teams in complex operational environments.
• Knowledge of Australian engineering standards and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the site Engineering team, providing direction across reliability, maintenance and asset management activities.
• Develop and implement engineering strategies that improve plant availability, reliability and operational performance.
• Support operations and maintenance teams in achieving performance, production and availability targets.
• Oversee asset management programs, maintenance optimisation and lifecycle planning.
• Ensure compliance with engineering standards, statutory obligations and company procedures.
• Lead engineering risk management processes to ensure safe and efficient plant operation.
• Monitor engineering performance metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Manage engineering budgets, workforce planning and resource allocation.
• Provide technical leadership for plant troubleshooting, operational challenges and major equipment issues.
• Build strong relationships with operations, maintenance, client representatives and key stakeholders.

Operating on a 2:1 FIFO roster, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable and efficient construction of the power station through effective engineering strategies.

Reporting as a key member of the site leadership team, you will oversee engineering performance, operational support and compliance activities while leading a team of engineering professionals focused on delivering operational excellence.

What you’ll bring:

• Degree qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Process, Chemical or related Engineering discipline.
• Extensive leadership experience within power generation, energy, utilities, oil & gas or heavy industrial operations.
• Strong background in asset management, plant reliability and maintenance strategy development.
• Proven experience managing engineering teams in complex operational environments.
• Sound understanding of engineering risk management and operational governance.
• Knowledge of Australian engineering standards, safety regulations and statutory compliance requirements.
• Strong commercial acumen with experience managing operational budgets and performance outcomes.
• Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills.
