Job summary

Digital Native is seeking an Engineering Lead for Edge Engineering in Brisbane. You will balance hands-on coding in C++ or Rust on Linux with technical leadership to deliver robust edge software and drive architectural direction.

You will mentor a product team, collaborate with a product manager, and promote DevOps practices to improve delivery velocity and software quality across sprints.

Qualifications

• Production software development experience with C++ or Rust.
• Experience developing, deploying and debugging software on Linux.
• Experience leading or guiding an agile software team.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, system integration and resilient service design.
• Experience with DevOps or SRE practices, including build, test, deployment and automation.
• Familiarity with APIs and integration technologies such as REST, gRPC, Protobuf, serial I/O or HDLC.
• Strong problem-solving, communication and technical leadership skills.
• Tertiary qualification in Software Engineering, Information Technology or Computer Science (nice to have).

• Strong problem-solving, communication and technical leadership skills

Nice to Have

• Experience working with constrained compute, memory or network environments
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab, Jenkins or Artifactory
• Experience with automated unit, emulation or other software testing frameworks
• Experience mentoring engineers and promoting engineering communities of practice
• Tertiary qualification in Software Engineering, Information Technology or Computer Science

The Details

• Rate or Salary: $160-170k plus Super
• Duration and type: Fixed term contract 18 months
