Job summary

Pro Services Pty Ltd is offering a first year metal fabrication apprenticeship with hands-on training in welding, boilermaking, sheetmetal and fabrication. You will begin in the workshop and progress to site work, gaining skills across multiple fabrication disciplines.

You will spend 1–2 months in the workshop before going out on site, with emphasis on teamwork, direction, and a commitment to completing the four-year apprenticeship.

Qualifications

• Minimum of Year 10 education; completion of Year 12 viewed favourably.
• Experience in Engineering Fabrication or similar environment showing aptitude for similar work.
• Willingness to work as a team member.
• Willingness to accept direction.
• Willingness to work outside set roster when required.
• Willingness to undertake training as required.
• Driver’s licence desirable.
• Passion to complete a 4 year apprenticeship.

Responsibilities

• Spend time in the workshop learning welding, boilermaking, sheetmetal and fabrication.
• Work on projects in the workshop and on various sites.
• Cut and measure sheet metal, mild steel, aluminium and stainless steel; operate fabrication machines and perform welding.
• Provide general assistance to tradesmen and maintain a clean work environment.

Your New Role as a First Year Metal Fabrication Apprentice:

Gaining skills across a variety of areas including welding, boilermaking, Sheetmetal and fabrication.

You will be involved in a number of projects in the workshop and on various sites.

As an apprentice, you will spend a minimum 1-2 months in the workshop learning until going out on site.

The majority of the work will be cutting and measuring sheet metal, mild steel, aluminium and stainless steel, operation of fabrication machines, welding, general assistance to the tradesmen and maintaining a clean work environment.

What you will need to succeed.

• Minimum of Year 10 education, while completion of Year 12 would be viewed favourably.
• Previous or current work experience (both paid and/or un-paid) in an Engineering Fabrication or similar environment showing an aptitude for similar type of work.
• Willingness to work as a team member.
• Willingness to accept direction.
• Willingness to work outside set roster when required.
• Willingness to undertake training as required.
• A driver’s licence will be desirable.
• But most of all we are looking for candidates that have the passion to complete a 4 year apprenticeship.
