Job summary

GenusPlus Group in Melbourne is seeking a Lines and Structures Engineering Coordinator to lead and coordinate engineering activities for transmission line route design, overhead line systems, towers and foundations, ensuring safety, compliance and constructability across design, construction and handover.

Qualifications

• Bachelor level or higher in civil/structural/electrical engineering.
• Chartered status or eligibility is desirable.
• Experience with line/ tower engineering/Governance frameworks is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead all engineering activities for transmission lines, towers and structures.
• Provide technical leadership on line route, tower type selection, foundations and structural systems.
• Ensure deliverables comply with PSDR, PCRs and PFRs and standards.
• Oversee design documentation across all stages and maintain constructability considerations.
• Manage interfaces between lines, structures, foundations, access tracks and construction logistics.
• Identify and mitigate engineering risk for lines and structures.

Job Overview

The Lines and Structures Engineering Coordinator is responsible for leading and coordinating all engineering activities associated with transmission line route design, overhead line systems, towers, foundations and related structural works. The role ensures that engineering solutions are safe, compliant, constructible and optimised to meet project cost, schedule, quality and risk objectives.

Reporting to the Engineering Lines and Towers Manager, this role works closely with construction, project controls, logistics, safety, environment, land access and asset owner teams, providing technical governance and assurance throughout design, construction and handover. The role plays a critical role in managing engineering risk, ensuring constructability and maintaining compliance with the Builder PSDR, PCRs, PFRs, relevant standards and approvals.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Lead all engineering activities related to transmission lines, towers and associated structures
• Provide technical leadership for line route, tower type selection, foundations and structural systems
• Ensure engineering deliverables comply with the Builder PSDR, PCRs, PFRs and applicable standards
• Oversee development, review and acceptance of design documentation across all design stages
• Integrate constructability, operability and maintainability considerations into engineering outcomes
• Manage engineering interfaces between lines, structures, foundations, access tracks and construction logistics
• Support development and review of temporary works and construction methodologies impacting line and tower works
• Lead engineering risk identification, assessment and mitigation for lines and structures

Essential Skills / Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in civil, structural or electrical engineering
• Chartered Professional Engineer status or eligibility (desirable)
• Extensive experience delivering line and tower engineering for major transmission or linear infrastructure projects
• Strong technical knowledge of overhead transmission lines, tower structures and foundations
• Proven experience working within structured engineering governance and assurance frameworks
• Strong understanding of constructability, Safety‑in‑Design and risk management principles
• Experience supporting construction, erection, stringing and commissioning phases
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and decision‑making skills
• Excellent technical communication and stakeholder engagement capability
• Experience working in regulated or safety‑critical infrastructure environments
• Familiarity with large‑scale linear or transmission projects (highly desirable)
