Job summary

John Holland Group seeks a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the engineering assurance strategy across tenders and live projects. You will coordinate internal resources and external partners to ensure fit-for-purpose technical solutions that meet client requirements.

Based in Australia, you will support tender development, mobilisation and delivery, driving technical excellence while managing risks and opportunities across the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Chartered Engineer status, and registration as a Professional Engineer.
• Proven experience leading technical delivery and assurance across major tenders and complex projects.
• Broad technical engineering knowledge with strong commercial acumen.
• Experience identifying and managing engineering, safety, environmental and quality risks.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
• Excellent problem-solving, influencing and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering assurance process across tenders and projects, monitoring progress and escalating issues.
• Coordinate technical reviews and assurance activities with SMEs and reviewers.
• Support leads in planning safe, sustainable and commercially sound technical solutions, including procurement oversight.
• Establish and monitor engineering assurance, compliance and reporting processes.
• Support tender development and project delivery by identifying requirements, resources and risks.
• Lead improvement initiatives with KPIs and lessons learned.
