Job summary

Civmec Construction & Engineering is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to provide technical leadership for the Iluka Rare Earths Refinery project. The role focuses on safe, on-time delivery of electrical scopes, working with the Engineering Manager, project teams and clients to meet milestones.

The position is based at Eneabba, WA, with a 2:1 DIDO roster and transport from Perth Airport provided. You will oversee planning, engineering execution and contractor performance while maintaining

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
  • Experience on major construction projects.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and engineering software such as AutoCAD, Navisworks or equivalents.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication.
  • Experience working in a multi-discipline project team and stakeholder influence.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership across electrical scopes to ensure safe, on-schedule delivery.
  • Work with Engineering Manager, project teams and stakeholders on plans and execution.
  • Oversee planning, engineering execution, contractor performance and technical compliance.
  • Support delivery of critical project milestones.
  • Ensure electrical and instrumentation works align with designs and specs.
  • Resolve technical challenges on site with internal and client leadership.
  • Assist with MTOs and procurement for E&I goods/services.
  • Prepare work packs and method statements for schedule support.
  • Maintain QA standards and present neat documentation.

Civmec is proud to be partnering with Iluka on the delivery of the SMPE&I package for the Iluka Rare Earths Refinery, one of Australia's most significant critical minerals projects. This landmark development will establish the country's first fully integrated rare earths refinery and involves the delivery of large-scale structural, mechanical, piping, electrical and instrumentation works within a complex processing environment.


We're seeking experienced Engineer Electrical Senior to provide technical leadership, drive project performance, and contribute to the successful delivery of a nationally significant development.


This position is based at the Iluka Rare Earths Refinery in Eneabba, approximately 274 km north of Perth, Western Australia. We offer a 2:1 DIDO roster, with all transport to and from site provided from Perth Airport.

The Role

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will provide technical leadership across major electrical scopes, ensuring works are delivered safely, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards. Working closely with the Engineering Manager, project teams, and key stakeholders, you will oversee planning, engineering execution, contractor performance, and technical compliance while supporting the successful delivery of critical project milestones.

  • Ensuring project construction activities within the electrical scope are implemented in accordance with plans, designs and specifications. Managing electrical and instrumentation engineering / technical queries on site
  • Liaise with Internal and Client E&I leadership to resolve technical challenges on site
  • Assist with MTO's and procurement tasks for E&I goods and services
  • Prepare work packs, method statements and other construction related information in a timely manner as required to support the work schedule
  • Investigate and resolve engineering technical related problems and provide technical interpretation of design documents in support of construction managers, superintendents, and contractors.
  • Understand and implement quality control techniques
  • Perform other general duties that may be necessary to suit operational requirements as directed
  • Maintain company standards for Quality Assurance purposes
  • Present neat documentation, correspondence and records as requested

About You

To be successful in this role, you must possess:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
  • Previous project experience on major construction projects
  • Proficiency in MS Office and engineering software such as AutoCAD, Navisworks, or equivalent tools meets the competency requirements for the completion system.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to write clear, concise technical reports and documents
  • Experience working within a multi-discipline project team and focus on building effective relationships and influencing stakeholders
