Job summary

Miwatj Health Aboriginal Corporation is seeking an Engagement Officer to support community-based research across East Arnhem Land. You will work closely with Yolngu staff, clinical teams, and external scientists to plan and deliver activities that respect community protocols.

The role focuses on building relationships, increasing awareness of the project, and supporting Yolngu-led approaches within a fixed-term, part-time arrangement with travel across communities.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualifications in science, nursing, epidemiology, research or project management.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively across communities and with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-the-ground support to plan and deliver community-based research activities.
• Build strong relationships with communities and Yolngu staff.
• Increase awareness and understanding of the project and Yolngu-led approaches.
• Ensure activities are delivered respectfully and in line with community protocols.
• Travel to communities across East Arnhem Land.
