WIN Network is seeking an ENG Camera Operator/Editor to join our Cairns team. You’ll film and edit compelling stories for local news, reporting to the State News Director in a regional newsroom.

This full-time role runs Monday to Friday from our Cairns office, covering community events, sport, politics and environmental issues with a creative, deadline-driven approach.

• Proven experience in camera operation and video editing.
• Experience filming interviews, sporting events and community activities.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong time management to meet deadlines.
• Ability to work well in a team and contribute positively to workplace relationships.
• Willingness to learn new systems and processes.
• Creative eye to capture compelling news stories.
• Unrestricted driver’s license is essential.

About the role

We are currently seeking a passionate ENG Camera Operator/Editor to join our team. Reporting to the State News Director, you will be responsible for filming and editing high-quality stories for news and updates.

Working in a regional newsroom offers a unique and rewarding opportunity to cover a diverse range of stories. From community events and sport to politics and environmental issues, you’ll have the chance to capture the stories that matter and make an impact within the local community.

This is a full-time position, working Monday to Friday and based at our Cairns office.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Demonstrated skills in camera operation and video editing
• Experience filming interviews, sporting events and community activities
• A high level of accuracy and excellent attention to detail
• Strong time management skills and the ability to work effectively to deadlines
• The ability to work productively within a team and contribute positively to workplace relationships
• The confidence to contribute ideas and demonstrate initiative and flexibility
• A positive work ethic, with a willingness to learn new systems and processes
• A high level of creativity and the ability to recognise and visually capture a compelling news story
• An unrestricted driver’s licence, which is essential for the role
