Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a seasoned Pricing Analyst to help develop pricing strategies for customers and to monitor market dynamics in the Australian energy sector. The role involves building financial models, performing data analysis, and presenting insights to stakeholders to guide commercial decisions.

Responsibilities include pricing framework management, ad hoc reporting, and collaboration with operations to ensure accurate price implementations.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant experience in the energy industry (mandatory).
• Experience building and maintaining pricing/financial models.
• Experience with SQL based models preferred.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a knack for investigating and solving complex data problems.
• Ability to "hit the ground running" in a fast-paced environment.
• Relevant degree in Mathematics, Finance, Data Science, or Data Analysis is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development of pricing strategies for new and existing customers.
• Monitor costs, competitive position and regulatory changes to ensure accuracy of pricing model assumptions.
• Work with internal reporting and development teams to create adhoc reports.
• Present pricing data and insights to internal stakeholders.
• Contribute to month-end explanations, reporting, and ad hoc presentations for management.
• Liaise with operational teams to ensure the accurate price implementation.
• Manage the product and pricing framework to reduce complexity and increase effectiveness across retail offerings.
• Analyse external cost structures and optimise pricing frameworks.
• Ensure accurate pricing assumptions inform commercial forecasting and decision making.
• Contribute to the development of a new electricity pricing and budgeting model.
• Report to the Pricing Manager.
