Job summary

The SIL Company in Western Sydney is seeking compassionate Disability Support Workers for permanent and casual roles. You will provide drop-in and SIL support to participants, helping them maintain safety, comfort and routine with reassurance as needed.

This role focuses on psychosocial support, assisting participants to live more independently and improve well‑being. Current driver’s license and NSW eligibility are required, with a genuine passion for helping others.

Qualifications

• Experience with teenagers/young adults.
• Experience with psychosocial disability or complex needs is desirable.
• 1–2 years in supporting individuals with high communication support needs and behaviour intervention.

Responsibilities

• Drop in and SIL support.
• Help the participant achieve their goals.
• Domestic assistance to support the household environment.
• Respond to overnight activity with consistent reassurance.
• Support the participant in a calm, respectful and culturally appropriate manner.
• Build a positive, professional relationship with the family.
