Naiman Clarke in Sydney is seeking an experienced Employment Lawyer to join its leading employment law team. The role handles high-quality matters for employers and senior executives with mentoring and a merit-based salary.

The growth position offers ownership of advisory work across discrimination, industrial relations, workplace investigations, and WHS, with a CBD base and optional work-from-home arrangements to suit client needs and career goals.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years PQE in employment, workplace or industrial law, or a related field.
• Admitted, or eligible for admission to practice in Australia (must be admitted, or able to be admitted).
• Confident and able to communicate with clients; ownership of work and advice.
• Empathetic and strong-willed with desire to develop a career in employment law.
• Interested in developing their career in employment law.

Responsibilities

• Advising employers on a variety of contentious and strategic workplace matters in employment law, industrial relations law, work health and safety law, and discrimination law.
• Having day-to-day conduct of the provision of advice.
• Preparing documents for and attending proceedings in the Fair Work Commission and the Australian Human Rights Commission.
• Drafting Federal Court and Federal Circuit Court documents, including affidavits, concise statements, witness statements, and interlocutory applications.
• Working with and instruct counsel for matters running to the Federal Court and Federal Circuit Court.
• Advising high net worth clients regarding their employment law issues.
• Conducting legal research into the latest updates in employment and discrimination law.

About the role

The firm is seeking a 2-5 PQE lawyer or associate (title commensurate on experience) to join its employment practice. This is not a replacement role, but a growth role given the increased volume of employment law work.

You will be responsible for:

The ideal candidate
