Job summary

Sureway Employment and Training in Merimbula NSW invites motivated Employment Consultant to help participants on their path to work, connect with employers, and coordinate support services. This permanent full-time site role includes outreach to Eden and ongoing community engagement.

You don’t need direct industry experience; curiosity, initiative and strong communication will help you succeed. You’ll manage your caseload, promote participants’ strengths, and represent Sureway to build local

Right now, we are in the middle of something exciting. Our team is growing, and we have permanent full‑time opportunity available at our Sureway Merimbula site (including outreach services to Eden). Join us as we continue to expand our services and support more people across the region.

About the Role

As an Employment Consultant, you will support your caseload of participants to take ownership of their journey to work. You will build relationships, identify opportunities, and actively connect participants with employers.

You will partner with people with a disability to understand their goals, build their confidence and skills, and actively connect them with employers. Success in this role comes from your ability to engage people, stay organised, and keep momentum especially when things get challenging.

You don’t need direct industry experience, but you do need to be curious, proactive, and willing to learn quickly. We’re looking for people who come prepared, take initiative, and back themselves to build strong relationships in the community.

What You’ll Be Doing

Working one‑on‑one with participants to set clear employment goals and action plans

Actively building relationships with local employers to create job opportunities

Promoting participants’ strengths and matching them to suitable roles

Supporting participants before and after placement to ensure sustainable employment

Identifying barriers and coordinating support services or training where needed

Managing your own caseload, priorities, and follow‑ups to keep things moving

Maintaining accurate records and meeting program compliance requirements

Representing Sureway in the local community to build awareness and connections
