Job summary

Austin Health in Melbourne is seeking a hands-on Employee Relations Advisor to support local managers and HRBPs across the organisation. You will provide ER/IR advice, manage cases end-to-end, and ensure fair, consistent and legally compliant application of policies and industrial instruments.

A typical day includes guiding investigations and grievances, supporting misconduct processes, and coaching managers.

Qualifications

• Experience in an HR or ER advisory role
• Sound knowledge of employment legislation and industrial instruments
• Strong judgement and ability to manage sensitive matters
• Clear, confident communication and stakeholder management skills
• Strong organisation and prioritisation capability

Responsibilities

• Provide timely, accurate advice on employment legislation, EBAs and policy.
• Manage ER cases end-to-end, including investigations and grievance resolution
• Support misconduct and disciplinary processes, including coaching managers
• Work with stakeholders across P&C to resolve issues early (or when they’re already well underway)
• Contribute to ER guidance, toolkits and process improvements
• Support EBA implementation and respond to industrial and union-related queries
