Animal Emergency Australia (AES Canberra) is seeking an experienced ECC nurse ready to take on greater autonomy in emergency medicine. You’ll join a network that delivers life-saving care across Australia with supportive rostering, learning and mentoring opportunities.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of clinical ECC experience or a willingness to step into high-acuity emergencies, with flexible night/weekend availability, excellent communication and a collaborative mindset.

Qualifications

• 2+ years clinical experience (ECC highly regarded but not essential).
• Flexibility to work a mix of nights, overnights, weekends and holidays.
• Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or Bachelor of Veterinary Technology.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach.
• Growth mindset and willingness to learn best‑practice methods.
• Committed to providing quality care within an open hospital model.
• Be part of an on‑call roster, picking up one shift a month.
• Reliable mode of transport.

Responsibilities

• Hands on triage, pathology, radiography, treatments, surgery, and patient care.
• Critical care nursing delivering high‑quality patient outcomes.
• Roster designed to support wellbeing, learning & mentoring.
• Varied and high‑acuity cases, from trauma and ticks to GDVs, snake bites and more.
