VECA Veterinary Emergency Care Australia in Campbelltown is looking for a full-time Veterinary Nurse to join a busy 24/7 clinic. The role includes assisting veterinarians, maintaining records, stock control, and client guidance. Flexible scheduling helps you balance life with demanding shifts.

Qualifications

• Passion for animal welfare and high standards of care.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Comfortable handling animals of various sizes and temperaments.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience as a Vet Nurse.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate patient records, including treatment notes and stock control.
• Provide guidance to clients on animal care, health, hygiene, and general wellbeing.
• Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures, including safely restraining animals.
• Clean and sterilise examination areas, surgical instruments, and equipment in line with hygiene standards.
• Prepare surgical instruments and support veterinarians during procedures.
• Assist with the administration of anaesthesia and oxygen during surgical operations.
• Monitor animals during post-operative recovery, including observing vital signs and overall condition.
• Administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
• Perform administrative duties such as reception, appointment scheduling, and payment processing.
